I am working on a new story called Magpie – and I have received back the reader feedback from my most trusted beta-reader.
I think the book will have a strong impact on your readers. It’s very well written, very raw, very intense, and very dark. It’s not the kind of book that you enjoy, but it’s the type that should be read.
When I was writing Mapie between September of 2022 and February 2023 – I took a prolonged break. I quit work, moved countries, and started a new job – and I was worried that this long gap between working on the story might have impacted the ideas and the fluidity of the story.
I am pleased with the end product – and I think that gap in writing helped the story mature in my mind. Many of the ideas I wanted to incorporate into Magpie were half baked back in September 2022, and the months of inactivity allowed them to firm up and I was able to finish – and I agree with my beta-reader, I think I have produced a very raw, very intense, and very dark story.
Magpie takes you on a dark and harrowing journey into the world of terrorism and international espionage. A world where nothing is as it seems – and the lines between right and wrong are blurred.
Set in London, Syria, and Langley – Magpie is a story about friendship, betrayal, deception, duty, and survival.
