I have finished up a rough first draft of my Christmas story, Christmas Inc., and I am very happy with the way it came together.
So far, I have about 37k words for this draft, and I know it needs a bit more meat on the bones here and there. I am going to send it over to my dad to read and provide some feedback.
I am quite happy with what I have written so far—a couple of the scenes literally made me laugh out loud as I wrote them—and I am hopeful that the reader will enjoy it as much as I did writing it.
The story is a satirical, anarchic, and transgressive look at populist politics, greed, capitalism, slave labor, the cult of the billionaire, and (of course) the magic of Christmas.
