I have recently completed writing The Killer Who Loved Me, and Angel – and I thought I would give an update on what I will be working on next.
Mr. Amazing 2
I have been thinking about the second part of the the Mr. Amazing story – and I think this will be the one I write next. I hadn’t ever considered writing a follow-up to Mr. Amazing, but a reader left a comment saying they could wait for the next part and I thought, why not?
I had so much fun writing Mr. Amazing – and since I thought about writing a second book I have worked on the complexities of the story and characters, and – of course – action!
I might take July and August off from writing – so I will probably start work on this in the autumn.
Jackdaw
After Mr. Amazing 2 I will probably start work on the follow-up to Magpie – Jackdaw!
I have struggled with the story for Jackdaw, but quite recently it all fell into place. I know the story, the characters, the arc, and the ending – which is sometimes the hardest bit to work out.
Having said that – I often start a book pointing one way, and it ends up pointing a complete other direction when I end – so who knows how it will end?
Other People…
I am going to write a collection of short stories called Other People…. The stories will centre around relationships, sexuality, and the human condition.
I have two of the stories for the collection worked out – but I am still working on the third.
The Gods of War
The fourth installment of The Commander Nathan Blake Chronicles will have to be written at some point – and there are a lot of loose ends that need snipping off with this one.
I have the arcs worked out for all the main characters – all I have to do is write it…!
Other Stuff
I have been working on a story in my mind for a while about a mafia assassin – but I might not bother with it, as I took quite a bit of the material for Angel from this idea. There might not be enough left over to – we will see.
I also have a general idea for a gothic monster story – and I think I will write this at some point.
That’s it…
These are the plans I have for my next books – but this could all change. I didn’t plan on writing Angel, but then it came along and I just had to write it!
